Get ready for an interactive, educational 90 minute adventure aboard the Atlantis Explorer, our unique “floating classroom.” It’s a fascinating way to discover the ecological wonders of Long Island’s waterways.
The Atlantis Explorer Tour Boat takes you down the Peconic River and into Flanders Bay. Conducted by Aquarium Educators, the adventure offers plenty of opportunity for hands-on exploration while promoting environmental awareness and education about the Peconic Estuary.
The Atlantis Explorer Tour Boat sets sail seasonally (weather permitting) directly behind the Aquarium.
May (beginning May 13) – Weekends at 12pm & 2pm
June – Weekends at 12pm & 2pm and Daily for Groups only
July through Labor Day – Daily Excursions at 12pm, 2pm & 4pm
September – Saturday & Sundays plus select holidays (call for confirmation) only at 12pm & 2pm

Floating Classroom Cruise
Available for students in grades 2 – 12, the two-hour Floating Classroom Cruise includes hands-on activities such as trap pulls, interactions with horseshoe crabs and other local marine life, and an educational stroll along the shore of a remote region along Flanders Bay. Cruise limited to 72 participants.
Designed for students in grades 7 – 12, the Lab Cruise allows students to participate in a full-scale laboratory excursion, including the use of sampling equipment. Biological, chemical, and physical aspects of the Peconic Estuary are examined aboard the Atlantis Explorer, while the marsh is explored once the boat beaches. Cruise limited to 72 participants.
