Amazon Aviary

Amazon Aviary showcases the parrots that live in the canopy of the
Amazon Rainforest
. Like Long Island Aquarium’s popular Amazon
Rainforest exhibit, Amazon Aviary carries a message of environmental
responsibility behind its colorful display.

All of the parrots in the exhibit are rescued pets. Although parrots are sold worldwide – often illegally – as pets, they’re not a very practical choice for most people, since parrots typically live 40 to 80 years.

Priceless Parrot Preserve, the only 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in New York dedicated to the permanent care of abused, unwanted, exotic birds, rescued and cares for all of the parrots inhabiting the Amazon Aviary.
